Stephanie Ruth Hoy

Stephanie Ruth Hoy, 42 of Kalamazoo, Michigan departed this earthly life on December 26, 2021.

Stephanie was preceded in death by her mother Deborah Ruth Hoy, her fraternal grandparents Bell Sr. and Nancy Hoy and her maternal grandmother Naomi Ruth Easley and her Uncles Lester Hoy and Tyrone Hoy.

Stephanie graced this earth in Waukegan, Illinois the first child of Bell and Deborah Hoy on September 19, 1979. Stephanie was a loving, kind and curious child who cherished her parents and brothers Bell Hoy III and Kaiden Michael Thompson dearly.

Stephanie excelled throughout her school years from kindergarten through college having graduated with honors from Northland High School (Columbus Ohio City Schools) in 1997. Stephanie went on to attend and graduate from THE Ohio State University (Main Campus) in 2001 earning a B.A. in Economics.

Stephanie enjoyed a very successful career in the fields of business and business management serving in the role of Senior Project Manager for several Fortune 500 corporations in the United States, Europe, India, Serbia and the Ukraine. Stephanie earned many professional certifications throughout her career affording her increased responsibilities and recognition, which afforded her the opportunity to work across the world sharing her passion and expertise.

Stephanie leaves to cherish her memory her father, Bell (Jimia) Hoy Jr.; brothers, Bell Hoy III and Kaiden Michael Thompson; sisters, Ashley and Marissa Thompson; along with her prized miniature Italian Greyhound, Arlo Hoy. Stephanie enjoyed the blessing of a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins who will never forget her love for them.

Stephanie loved life and she held close her special “people” who poured into her journey in their special way. Stephanie will remain forever in the hearts and minds of her godmother, Justine Cooper; long time significant other, James Blake; her best friends, Calvin James and Regina Meeks; along with her cousin, Charmaine (Jeffrey) Harris-Hillary and her son, Robert Ware who regarded “Steph” his friend, mentor and sister.

The family will receive visitors at The Chapel of Peace 2500 Cleveland Ave. Columbus, Ohio 43211.

Stephanie will be laid to rest at Glen Rest Memorial Estate in Reynoldsburg, Ohio.

Private Visitation 1:00 PM and Private Funeral Service 2:00 PM Saturday, January 15, 2022 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH 2500 Cleveland Ave. Inurnment will be at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
