THE OBITUARY
Mable Hodge was born September 27, 1937 to mother, Queen Ester and father, George W. Edwards. She departed this life on March 12, 2016 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.
Mable was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who loved life and loved her family and friends. She was the kind of person who had a big heart, she was very giving and her door was always open.
She loved cooking and would be excited to cook for any occasion, or just in case you might be hungry she always made you feel welcome.
Mable Hodge loved Christ and her home church was Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Lance E. Humphrey, where she served on the Usher Board Ministry. She was a very active member until she took ill. She was also a devoted member to the American Legion Auxiliary of Columbus Ohio since 1970.
Her loving memories will be forever cherished by her husband, Galey Hodge; daughter, Carrie (Frank) Edwards; grandson, Kevin (Patricia) Edwards; great-grandson, Lamont Edwards; sisters, Lily Wilburn, Georgia Tucker, and Elizabeth Merit.
Mable is proceeded in death by her mother Queen Edwards; father, George W. Edwards; sister, Almetia Bolden; brother, George Edwards Jr.; niece, Cynthia Edward; and sister in law, Marion Edwards.
Visitation 11:00am and Funeral 12:00 noon Monday March 21, 2016 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church 1535 Dewey Ave. Interment at Northlawn Memory Gardens.
