Bennie Jacobs

Bennie Allen Jacobs Jr. went home to be with the Lord September 20, 2017 surrounded by his family and very close friends.

Bennie was formerly employed by Kroger, Panaca, held various factory jobs but mostly enjoyed landscaping. He took pride in his work. Bennie had a pleasing personality, a gift for gab. Thought he would be a comedian first and then a rapper. Never a singer… even though he would try. He played little league football for the Columbus Fire Fighters and attended Linden McKinley High School. He never met a stranger and had a great love for his family. You knew you were family when you saw that smile followed by a “what’s buzzin cuzzin, Come hug my neck” and then would pull you in for that hug. He loved his children so much. He was a stay at home dad most of the times, he was even a pretty good cook. He found comfort in the Bible and believed children should go to school and get a education and go to church. Bennie was always supportive of his nieces and nephews and kids with everything they were involved in. He will be truly missed. In his last hours, Bennies body had been through too much. God had called his son home.

He is preceded in death by grandparents Betty and Chester L. Eiland Sr., Maggie and John (Betty JO) Jacobs, infant nephew Kendrick McGee.

He leaves to cherish his memory with parents Karen Jacobs and Bennie (Tareen) Jacobs Sr., sons Kyvion, Eli, Kaden Jacobs, daughter Kaiya Jacobs, special daughter Mykiaya Jacobs, brothers John, Bobby, Justin Bailey and JaQuine Williams, sisters Nikki Long, Ebony Jacobs, Uniqua Bailey, Latonya Collier, Latasha Tucker-Weiler and Yolanda (Edward) Bradley, God parents Chanel and Michael (Deborah) Eiland, nieces Jasmine Purvis, Malia Wade, nephews Jashawn Boswell, Donte Carmichael, life time best friend William and Maurice Persons, Kenneth (Tiffany) Moore, Jason Cosby, Ohmane (Meme) Hugh, Donte Bradford, Rob Holland, Robert Purvis, Chris Peoples and Maurice Wade. Former wife Khalfa Cockran, Mothers to his children Cassandra Ellison and Chantia Pace, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
