Albry Harris

Elder Albry Harris went home to be with the Lord, Jesus Christ, December 4, 2023, after a short illness.

He was born in Kellarney, West Virginia, February 6, 1931, to the late Elisha and Lottie Gilbert Harris. After the death of his mother at the age of 4 years old, his father married the late Signora Haley, who raised him. He was one of ten children and had one stepsister and two stepbrothers.

He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, where he received The Good Conduct Service Metal and The National Defense Service Metal. He was honorably discharged in 1968.

Elder Harris received his doctorate degree in Biblical Theology from Christian Bible College of Rocky Mt. North Carolina in 2006. He is the author of several books and Biblical Pamphlets. Elder Harris was a professor and Dean of Students at the Ohio School of Biblical Theology, founder Dr. Isaiah Aycox. He received Jesus Christ as his savior in 1979 at the Church of Christ the Apostolic Faith. He was baptized in Jesus’s name and filled with the Holy Ghost.

Over the years he served in several areas from Director of the Men’s Choir, Sunday School Teacher, on staff of the Grace Apostolic Bible Academy. He was an avid reader and golfer until his health declined.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elisha, and Lottie Gilbert Harris; stepmother, Signora Harris; brothers, Melvin, John, Kelly, Nathanel Essie, and Curtis; sisters, Thelma Okrey, and Alma; stepbrother, Pete Haley, James Haley; stepsister; Pearl Haley Mullin.

Elder Harris leaves to cherish his memory, Carolyn, his beloved wife of 36 years; his children, Reverend Paige Harris of Washington DC., Sandra V. Harris of Columbus, Ohio, Diane C. Harris of Columbus, Ohio; grandsons, Todd Harris of Savana, Georgia, David Harris of Columbus, Ohio; a host of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Grace Apostolic Church, 1743 E. Lakeview Ave.

Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
