Anderson E. Reed

Anderson E. Reed was born on April 1, 1949 in Columbus, Ohio. He was the only son born to Anderson and Lucille Reed. He was raised by his mother until her death in November 2008.
He was preceded in death by his mother Lucille Reed, his father, Anderson Reed; his sister, Ada Brown; and his brother, Carlos Taylor. Anderson attended Garfield elementary school, Champion Jr. High, and graduated from East High School in 1968. He attended Ohio State University and graduated with a degree in Communications. Anderson developed a relationship with God at an early age. He became a member of one of the oldest black churches in Columbus, Ohio, Shiloh Baptist Church. Under the leadership of Rev. Dr. James W. Parrish, Anderson continued his spiritual journey. While under the leadership of both Rev. Dr. C. Dexter Wise and Rev. Dr. Otha Gilyard, Anderson served on the Board of Trustees, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and various other ministries of the church. He was very dedicated and involved in learning about the Lord and he used his communication skills to teach and help others. For many years, Anderson worked for the State of Ohio as an IT Manager in the Ohio Department of Development. However, he had an entrepreneurial spirit that he just could not ignore and he left his job as IT Manager to start his
own business, Anderson Reed Enterprises. Under the umbrella of Anderson Reed Enterprises, he participated in many aspects of business; he was good at networking and sharing information with others for better and healthy living. He also volunteered at various organizations throughout Columbus. Anderson leaves to cherish his memory, three sisters, Annettia Reed-Lettsome
(Gerwyn) of Lynwood , IL ; Andrea Denise Williams (Bobby) of Austin , TX ; Lisa Ann Wade of Atlanta, GA; one niece, Karen Brown, and one nephew,Karlton Brown.
Anderson was very charismatic and had many, many friends. Special friends; William Dodson, Rev. Dr. Willie Battle, Robert Methe, Elayne Macarthy, and neighbors, Hannah and Tate Stewart were especially helpful, loving, and caring during his nearly 2 year illness and hospitalization.

A Memorial Service and Inurnment will take place Saturday, October 3rd – 1:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens 5600 E. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio
