Angela J. Gordon

Angela “Ann” Jeanette Gordon was born on July 28, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio to Harry and Thelma Gordon. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, going to church and spending time with her family; especially her grand babies. Ann lived a life free from fear and did what she wanted, when she wanted. She wasn’t easily swayed by the opinions of others and had no problem telling you if she thought your opinion wasn’t a “good” one.

Ann was an avid storyteller and loved to share the testimony about how God delivered her from the strongholds of addiction. She’d say, “Through the years, I did everything I knew to get clean on my own, but when God got a hold of me, he took that urge away and He saved my life. In the fall of 2005, Ann re-dedicated her life to Christ and became a faithful member of The City of Grace, formerly, Christ Cathedral Church and never looked back. During her faithful 19 year tenure at The City, Ann held numerous positions; such as, custodian, assistant, armor bearer and
usher. Ann was faithful; usually the first one at the church and the last to leave.

Even though she retired from the street life; Ann never left home without her switchblade and she wasn”t afraid to use it. Though she was tough on the exterior, Ann was extremely gentle, meek and loving. If she trusted you, she’d do anything for you, if she loved you, she made sure you knew it.

Ann departed this life and into her Saviors arms on Saturday, December 30, 2023 in Columbus, Ohio. Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children, Larry Gordon, Tyrone “Marquentia” Fountain, Kennetta “John” Kendrix, Mark Fountain, Shonte Gordon: and brother, Tyrone Gordon; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry W. and Thelma J. Gordon; son, Roger Gordon; daughter, Amanda Gordon; brothers, Harold, Harry “HG”, Leon, Frederick, Kenny Ray, Derek “Bookie”, Jerome (Kayro) Gordon; and sisters, Gretchen Bond, Brenda Brooks, Yvette Gordon, Paula Gordon and Debora Gordon.

While our hearts are broken at the physical loss of our beloved Ann, we rejoice in the promises of God. “The Lord is close to the broken-hearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”
