Annie Pearl “Kate” Allen

Annie Pearl “Kate” Allen was born July 25, 1943 in Augusta, Georgia to Annie Gray Embry and John Henry Embry. She finished her journey here on earth when she departed to be forever with the Lord on Thursday, October 22, 2020.

Annie is preceded in death by her mother Annie Embry, father John Embry, step-father Sam Harris, son James Willie Allen, grandson Andre “lil Dre” Clemons, Jr., brother Robert Embry, sisters Rosa Lee Combs, Bernice Rogers, Verna Mae Embry and her loving husband of 44 earthly years, John Henry “Sonny” Allen.

She leaves to cherish her memory three loving and devoted daughters; Patricia Allen-Clemons of Columbus, OH, Minister Bernice (Mario) Edwards of St. Louis, MO, Rosa (honorary son-in-law William Lester) Allen of Columbus, OH; one son, Kayveontae “Tae” Butler of Columbus, OH; one God-daughter, Regina Strain of Columbus, OH; one sister, Carrie Bell Grissom of Mesena, GA; Sister-in-law Louise Slaughter, Brother-in-law Leroy Allen one; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

PRIVATE Homegoing Celebration 1:00 PM and Funeral Service 2:00 PM Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Marlan J. Gary Funeral Home, The Chapel of Peace East, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. Pastor Mario Edwards officiating.

Due to the Coronavirus epidemic, tickets are required for admittance and masks must be worn. The family requests no visitation at their homes and thanks you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.

Interment Eastlawn Cemetery.
