Antoinette Fulton Hairston

August 23, 1939 – September 17, 2024

Antoinette Fulton Hairston, affectionately known as "Toni," was born on August 23, 1939, to Helyne Rose Willis and Alonzo Paul Hairston. Part of the village which raised her included her Aunt Daisy.

She attended schools in Ohio and North Carolina. She was blessed with two children, Domonique Simone Fulton, and Leon Roberto Fulton, whom she cherished deeply. While she was known to be stern and private, she carried an undeniable love for her family.

In her later years, Toni found comfort and joy in the companionship of her siblings and extended family.

Toni had a flair for fashion and was known for never leaving the house unless she was impeccably dressed. She delighted in decorating, hosting themed gatherings and sharing her love through cooking mouthwatering Southern meals for her friends and family. These gatherings were a testament to her generous spirit and love for bringing people together.

Toni departed this life unexpectedly on September 17, 2024, shortly after celebrating her 85th birthday surrounded by loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved Aunt Daisy Willis Caldwell, and her siblings Paul Bush Hairston, Sr., Wendell David Hairston, Sr., and Paulette McWilliams.

She leaves behind her children, Domonique Simone Fulton and Leon Roberto Fulton; her grandchildren Leon Roberto Fulton, Jr. and DeBraceé Fulton; her great grandchildren; her siblings Valeria D. Hairston, Vernita D. Hairston, and Dorothy Elaine Hairston, (Warren Saunders); and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Mary Nutter and Pamela Thomas for their unwavering support and care during Toni’s final days. We also appreciate the compassionate assistance provided by Marlan Gary Funeral Home, Temple of Faith Church of God in Christ, Bishop Roger Hairston, Ronnie Hairston, and Michelle from the Franklin County Coroner’s Office.
