Antwan Cook

Antwan Lamar Cook July 23, 1990 – July 12, 2023, Columbus, Ohio. Antwan Cook, 32 years
old, was unexpectedly called home on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. He was born from the
beautiful union of his parents, Curtis and Kemily Cook, and was known to many as “Twan,
Phat Twan, and Phat Tweezy.” Antwan was caring, charismatic, and passionate about life
and his imprint is forever etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing
him.
He was mentored by Brother Cecil Ahad, Pastor Frederick LaMarr, Stacey Elliott
(Salahuddin), and Dartangnan Hill (OG Half). This mentorship, in addition to the influence
of his parents and god-father, rooted within him the “my brother’s keeper” creed. Antwan
had a strong influence within the community and worked with youth groups through “Men
for Movement” where he provided guidance to neighborhood youths. Antwan was a pioneer
for change and community empowerment, and he always encouraged growth within his
circle of family, friends, and the community.
Antwan was a creative self-made artist, designer, and brand owner of Soufghanistan. He
was a trailblazing trendsetter who travelled and collaborated with many legendary artists
from coast to coast. Antwan was a gifted writer and talented performer, his music, like
Antwan himself, touched the masses. Antwan wrote and produced thought provoking
music that shared his story, his experiences, and his growth as he navigated through life.
His legacy will live forever.
Antwan loved his entire family, and his family loved him. Antwan’s children, parents, and
siblings held a very special place in his heart. He was a loving father, son, grandson, uncle,
brother, nephew, cousin, and friend to so many loved ones. Antwan had an infectious smile
and a heart of gold, and his presence, his laughter, and his love will be infinitely missed.
Antwan is predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents, Juanita White and
Thomas Bell, Alice Faye Bryant and Roger Miller; uncles, Lawrence Bryant, Jr. and Hudon
Nicholes; aunts, Ramona Cosby-Saunders and Francine Cosby; and niece, Ky’lisiah Cook.
Antwan leaves to fondly cherish his memories, his parents, Curtis and Kemily Cook,
