Aubrey Janae Carter

Aubrey Janae Carter, age 34, was born December 18, 1985 to Curtis & Gail Carter in Columbus, Ohio. Aubrey went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, October 4, 2020.

Aubrey also known as “Bre” and affectionately called “Bre Butterfly” was an amazing person and the life of the party! She absolutely loved to spend time with her family, traveling, laughing, and making everyone else laugh. All her nieces and nephews loved hanging out with their “Auntie Bobbi”. She was a self-proclaimed sneaker head and food guru. She enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes. Aubrey kept it real with us all. If you wanted to know the truth about something, all you had to do was ask her. She also loved movies and music. One of her favorite things was quoting movies and music with her big sister, Ariel. Aubrey was an extremely strong person and wise beyond her years.

Aubrey attended East High School and Whetstone High School. She also worked at The Sunrise of Bexley Assisted Living Center before being diagnosed with breast cancer. She started out as an aid, but quickly moved up to a manager position. She had a special heart for seniors and was also very dedicated to her job. That goes to her character, always working hard to succeed and make others feel better. After her recovery from breast cancer, Aubrey began participating in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in support of breast cancer awareness. She really enjoyed attending the races with her mother, Gail. They referred to each other as “The Wonder Twins” as they were both survivors. Right before Aubrey went into the hospital again, she made it clear that she wanted to be baptized. By the grace of God, in the days before her sunset, her request was granted. Aubrey was baptized on October 1st and again gave her life to The Lord.

Aubrey is preceded in death by her Grandfather, Curtis C. Carter, her Great-Grandmother, Cleotha Haley, her grandparents, Harvey J. & Norma J. Russell and her stepfather, William D. Cooler.

Aubrey is survived by her father, Curtis A. (Trabia) Carter; mother, Gail D. Carter; siblings, Ariel J. (Germain) Robinson, Armoni D.P. Cooler, Angel J. Cooler, Monet E. Bumper; nieces, Aleiyce J. Green, Mi’Angel J. Cunningham, La’Miyah E. Cooler and MaiOri E.J. Lee; nephews, Mason D. Cunningham, Mekhi P. Cooler, Aiden A. Cooler, Titan P. Lee; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Aubrey would want her family to bind together in love. She will be tremendously missed by all.

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
John 14:27 NKJV.
