Bennett James Bowens

It’s with heavy hearts we are announcing the passing of our brother, Bennett James Bowens. He was born on July 2, 1966, to the union of Johnny Bell and Carolyn Bowns.

He attended McGuffey Jr. High School and graduated from West High in 1984. He went on to further his career by attending Bliss College, where he earned a degree in Business. He was hired at The Ohio State University Transportation Department for many years.

He is preceded in death by parents, Johnny Bell, and Carolyn Bowens; brother, Larry Anthony; wife, Joyce Bowens; and goddaughter, Mya Lane.

He is saved by siblings, Sabrina Bowens (Gregory Lassiter), Jacqueline Bowens, Cynthia Bowens Walker (Thomas Walker), Christine Bowens (Tyrone Taylor) and Sherrie Williams, and a host of nieces, great nieces, and nephews, one nephew and friends.

Visitation 1:00 PM and Memorial Service 2:00 PM Monday, December 11, 2023 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd).
