Bernard Ceasar Wright

Mr. Bernard Ceasar Wright, 70, passed away on October 18, 2023. Bernard was born on February 11, 1953 in Columbus, Ohio to Ceasar Wright and Carrilla Wright-Wall. He is Preceded in death by his mother, Carrilla Wright; father, Ceasar Wright; brother Kermit G. Wright.

Bernard is survived by his children’s mother, Dolly Caldwell; daughters Jennifer Caldwell (Mershawn McMahan); Monica Watkins; sons Bernard Deshawn Caldwell (Carlyn Caldwell); Ezana Boston (Shelley Boston); sisters Ruby Campbell; sister Terry A. Brown (George R. Brown); Marritta Morris (Roderick Morris); Ballarrie V. Wright; brother Gregory L. Wright; 20 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and 17 nieces and nephews.

Bernard was a kindhearted God-fearing man who worked as head Chef at Scioto Country Club for more than 25 years until retiring 5 years ago. He enjoyed cooking and took pride in whipping up spectacular meals for family and friends. He always seemed to have a joke on hand and brought laughter to any room that he entered. In his free time, he loved listening to music and watching classic urban movies. He fancied himself a DJ in his prime and always dressed in the latest fashions. Bernard was also a car enthusiast and moonlighted as a mechanic; you could often find him under the hood of a car or cruising around town in his freshly waxed ride. Bernard was easy going and one of the coolest people you could ever meet. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Public viewing will be held on Wednesday, 25th of October, 2023 from 11:00am – 12:00pm at The Chapel of Peace East in Columbus, Ohio.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, 25th of October, 2023 at 12:00pm at The Chapel of Peace East in Columbus, Ohio. The Reverend Dr. Michael A. Henson, will be officiating.

Repast gathering will be held on Wednesday, 25th of October, 2023 at 2:30pm at Jerusalem Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 827 E. Maynard Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43211. Bernard’s family will be present to welcome loved ones.

Visitation 11:00 AM and Funeral Service 12:00 PM Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd.).

Interment at Green Lawn Cemetery.
