Bessie Mae Jenkins

Bessie Mae Jenkins, age 89 of Columbus, Ohio. Sunrise January 30,1930, Sunset September 22, 2019. She was born to the late Mack and Viola Hogan in Augusta, Georgia.

She was married to the late Wilford Jenkins Sr. Bessie was a long time member of Lincoln Park Baptist Church until her health wouldn’t allow her to attend any longer. She worked as a waitress at Charberts on OSU campus and in the food service field for Columbus Public Schools. In her spare time she liked to sit on her front porch in her favorite chair enjoying the the fresh air. Her passion was working in her gardens which were the best in the neighborhood. She loved being with her family sharing her wisdom. She was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. To know her was to love her.

Bessie is preceded in death by her loving husband Wilford Jenkins Sr, mother and father Mack and Viola Hogan. Siblings Alberta, Zear Mack, Elizabeth, Freddie, James, Robert, and her son Roy Hogan Sr.

Bessie Mae leaves to cherish her loving memory sons Wilford Jr and Mark Jenkins. Daughters Libby and Darlene Jenkins, Gloria(Carl) Patterson; 12 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren, nieces, a host of family and friends.

Visitation 9AM and Funeral Service 10AM Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Lincoln Park Community Baptist Church, 675 E. Markison Ave 43207.

Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.
