Betty Jo Mccurdy

Betty Jo McCurdy departed this earth on August 21, 2018. She was born on August 26, 1933 in Anniston, AL. At a young age she and her family moved to Ohio. She was educated in the Columbus Public School System. Betty was raised Baptist and in her teen years she joined Love Zion Baptist Church, where she, along with her mother and sister sang in the choir. Betty remained a member until her passing.

Betty loved her yearly fishing trips in Canada, her annual birthday party, family camp outs, softball, tennis, and above all else, her family.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Troy McCurdy; parents, James and Lucy Glover; and sister, Emma “Missy” Freeman.

Betty leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Melvin Hoston, CardellHoston, and Anthony Johnson; daughters, Linda (Stephen) Walker, Brenda Hill, and Bobbi (Stewart) Matthews; brothers, Harold (Barbara) Glover, and Bobby (Linda) Glover; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Betty was an exceptionally strong and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She will be sadly missed, greatly loved, and fondly remembered by all that knew her.

Visitation 11:00am and Funeral 12:00pm Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Love Zion Baptist Church, 1459 Madison Ave.

Interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
