Billy Joe Wyke

Our father, Billy Joe Wyke Jr., left this world on Friday November 18th , at the age of 83
after a long illness. He will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts. He is
survived by four children, Laquita Campbell (Terry) of Ramer, Tennessee; Billy Jerome
Wyke of Forsyth, Georgia, Bridget M. Wyke Love (Terry) of Lorton, Virginia, and Ryan Jones
(Monique) of Columbus, Ohio. Billy loved his grandchildren, Bryan, Blake, Ebony, Latia,
Brandon, Cameron, Joshua, Chris, and Prynce. He had 12 great grandchildren.

Our Father was born on March 30, 1939, in Ramer, Tennessee to the late Billy Wyke Sr. and
Flora Daisy Kirk Wyke. He was the second oldest of four children. He was preceded in
death by his brother George Wyke. Survived by his Brother Eddie Wyke of Columbus, Ohio,
and Sister Elnora (Elbert)Floyd of Deerfield Beach, Florida. A host of Nieces, Nephews and
Aunt Velma Wyke, Pearl Kirk and special cousins Teresa and Sonny Wyke, Relatives and
Friends.

Billy was born and raised in Ramer, Tennessee. He attended and graduated from McNairy
County High School. During his senior year the basketball team that Billy played on were
the champions for District 4 in 1960. In the Mid 60s his family moved to Columbus, Ohio.
In 1965 he married Bobbie Jean Watts and to this union two children were born, Billy
Jerome and Bridget. Billy and his family joined Union Grove Baptist Church in the early
70s. Billy worked at Capital University for many years and retired from Ross Laboratories.
He enjoyed working part-time at Gary Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

He was a devoted, committed, and loving Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Friend. Family
meant the world to him. He enjoyed traveling to Tennessee to visit family and friends. He
truly loved life to the fullest through simple pleasures like chatting with family and friends.
Spending time with his grandchildren brought so much love and joy to his heart.

His hobbies were bowling, travel, horse derby, and being a devoted Cleveland Browns fan. He
was a great cook and enjoyed sharing his meals with others. Billy was one of the kindest
people you could ever meet. There is one in every family who was always there for
everyone; that was “Our Dad”. He was a Quiet Missionary of Good Deeds. Billy loved his
parents dearly and took pride and joy in taking care of them. His special friends are
Connie, Monica, and Helen.
