An electrician for the city of Columbus and a Chaplain at Sonshine Christian Academy, Bishop Cochran left a large impact on the city and those he came into contact with. After having served as an elder under the late Bishop Sandy Dunlap (Grandfather) and Bishop Clarence Caldwell, he continued his path of ministry as Bishop of Uplift Christ Outreach Center and Heart of Christ, where he cultivated a sense of community in the Linden area, our LINDEN HERO.

He is preceded in death by: His mother; Anna Ruth Cochran, grandparents; Sandy and Emma Dunlap, Dora Cochran, aunts; Ruby (Arthur) Smedley, Mildred Lawson; uncles Bishop Raymond (Lillian) Dunlap, Joe (Doris) Dunlap.

He leaves to cherish his memories: Father Larry Don Cochran Sr., sons Larry (Little Larry) Don Cochran, III and Robert (Bob) Cochran, Reco Johnson;  daughters Diana (his princess) Cochran-Lindsey (Tyrone Lindsey), Vannessa Williams, and Kennedie Williams, Sister Margaret Ann Cochran-Erife (Alex Erife),  Brother John Allen Cochran, the mother of his children Teresa Cochran, niece Tanisha Pruitt, PhD, nephew James Pruitt, and 17 grandchildren; goddaughter, and a host of cousins, family, and friends.

Bishop Cochran was a light in this world and a blessing to everyone who knew him. He had an infectious smile, larger than life personality, and the ability to make anyone laugh even on their darkest days. We will cherish all of the memories we have and know that Bishop will live on in our hearts and minds. As Bishop would always say….

“Say thank you Jesus”
