OBITUARY
Bishop Raoul Lee’Brenton Donaldson was born on March 20, 1933 to Clay and Elizabeth Donaldson in Logan West Virginia. He was the youngest of five children. Bishop Raoul Donaldson graduated from Aracoma High School, and was called to serve his country in the U.S. Army. After returning hel went on to graduate from Central State University on June 13,1976, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. His Professional employment included being a Community Liaison, Social Worker with The State of Illinois and a Teacher at the Columbus Urban League.
Bishop Raoul Donaldson was called to his eternal rest on Thursday December 20,2012 at Riverside Hospital. He was preceeded in death by his parents, sister’s Mary Margaret Hogue, Alice Margaret Sylvester, Gladys Cook, and brother John Newsome.
Bishop Raoul Donaldson leaves to cherish his memories wife of twenty years Eugenia Donaldson, Sister Rose Esther Jones-Sylvester, Daughter Sabrina(Aaron) Mitchell, Son Raoul (Cynthia) Donaldson II, and Step Daughter Carolyn Harris. Grand Children Tameka(Javier) Bridges, Brandon Donaldson, Tiffany(Rashaad) Davis, and Step Grandson Tyjuan(Barbara) Witherspoon. Great Grand Children Bryan Donaldson, Everett Smith, Trevon Smith, Nayla Donaldson, Nevaeh Donaldson, Malyk Donaldson, Xander Witherspoon, Peyton Witherspoon, and Braylen Witherspoon, God Daughter Katelyn Tatum and a host of relatives and friends.
Bishop Donaldson was Pastor of Spiritual Harvest Church in Toledo, Ohio, and former member of Independence Missionary COGIC. God called Raoul into the ministry in 1990 and he became a Pastor in 1996. Prior to his moving to Toledo he and his wife would travel back and forth every weekend to Toledo where he would hold church in a hotel. In one years time God had blessed Pastor Donaldson with enough money to pay in full and purchase his own church. Because of his efforts to unite several churches of all denominations to work together on one accord he would be ordained as Bishop in 1997.
Bishop Donaldson loved God with all his heart and his ministry was dedicated to introducing souls unto Jesus Christ. It was also important to him to see the hungry fed, those in the nursing homes not forgotten, and our young people educated. He was also a devoted family man.
Due to illness Bishop Donaldson and wife moved back to Columbus, Ohio to be nearer family and he resumed his membership with Independence Missionary C.O.G.I.C.
