Bonnie Evans

Bonnie Evans, 67, passed away on May 4, 2021. Bonnie was born on January 17, 1954 in Bluefield, WV to Joseph Mercs (Deceased) and Cathleen Mercs.

Bonnie was married in 1975 to Ernest Evans, with whom has preceded her in death. To this union two daughters were born: Kariann Ernestine and Chantelle Spring.

Bonnie is survived by daughters Kariann (Eugene) Lindsey, Chantelle Marcum, sisters Kathy Jane Humphrey, Linda Lee Rajnicek, Sister in law Jane (Lewis) Evans, Vera Evans, Brother in law, Alvin Evans, Clarence (Marilyn) Evans and William Evans. Grandchildren Makayla Rose Garnes, Natasha Renae Garnes, Sasha Nicole Garnes, Sierra Rain (Charles) Adams, Nathan Lee Gambrell, Dakota Lee Gambrell, Thadius Lee Gambrell, Janessa Ellen Lindsey, and Avianna Sue Lindsey. Great grandchildren, Jo’Honna Elise Pearl Jackson, Josiah Lawrence Wade, Alannah Mae Lynn Walton, and Zendaya Spring Phillips. Aunt Betty (Bill) Adkins, Diane Barton, Jackie Stewart, and Uncle Rick Eller. Many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She graduated from Whitehall Yearling High School in 1972. She went on to serve the public through waitressing and bartending for many years. One of her favorite things to do was to reading especially Stephen King novels. Mom also loved going to the Movies, her favorites were mystery and scary movies. She also spent time coloring, she loved to color especially with her granddaughter Avianna. Another way she spent her time was with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, cooking and watching Disney movies, all Holidays were spent with family.

Bonnie is preceded in death by Kenneth Dozier, a life partner that she spent many years with, as well as many family and friends.

Private Visitation 1:00 PM and Private Funeral Service 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd).
