Carl William Duncan, Jr.

Carl William Duncan, Jr. was born in Compton, California on December 5, 1955 to Carl and Marcia Duncan. He attended Caldwell Elementary, Walton Jr High School. Most of his summers were spent working with his father, learning the trade of a mechanic. He graduated from Compton Senior High in 1974. Shortly after, he joined the United States Army where he obtained several honors and certifications.

Carl was joined in marriage in 1977 to his High School Sweetheart Carlene Washington. To this union were 2 daughters. They resided in the Fort Ord California until he received honorable discharge in 1979. He then moved to Long Beach, California.

Carl always enjoyed machinist mechanic work. He completed a journeyman machinist program and worked for several companies throughout his career. He also completed an apprenticeship for underwater ship valve repair while employed at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard in California.

In 1982 Carl was baptized at Christ Centered Apostolic Church. In 1989 Carl and his family relocated to Columbus, Oh. He became a member of Smyrna Baptist Church in 1990. He was employed by The Veteran Administration Hospital, L & J Fasteners, and S & K Audio.

Carl pursued his dream of opening his own shop. Carl became owner of Timex Hydraulics Auto Shop. He was a very hard working man as he supervised the maintenance crew for Sears Department Store in addition to being a mechanic.

Carl was preceded him in death by his father, Carl William Duncan, Sr.; mother, Marsha Duncan-Jefferson; grandparents, Henry and Johnnie Johnson. He leaves to cherish his memory 2 daughters, CaChoya (Lamont) Keaton, and Kaelisha Duncan; four grandchildren, Kris Peppers, Marcus Walker, Damarye Ford, and Mikaela Duncan all of Columbus; brother, Carlton (Teri) Duncan of Fresno, California; sisters, Pamela (Donald) Graves, Cynthia Duncan, and Monica Duncan all of Oklahoma; and a host of relatives and friends who will miss his upbeat personality and willingness to help others.

Visitation 11am and Funeral 12noon Wednesday, January 10, 2017 at Smyrna Baptist Church, 1650 Wilson Ave.

Interment at Friendship Cemetery in Newell, OK.
