Carla Lee Myles, a cherished member of her community, filled the hearts of those around her with joy and love. With profound sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Carla on September 19, 2023, in Columbus, Ohio, due to natural causes. Born on April 4, 1966, in Dayton, Ohio to John Myles and Evelyn Shipp. Carla’s vibrant spirit and infectious laughter brought happiness to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Carla was a beacon of light in the lives of her loved ones. As a devoted homemaker, she dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing environment for her family. Carla’s steadfast commitment to her loved ones remains unparalleled. Her unwavering love and selflessness touched the lives of her beloved husband, Pierre Rollins, and their children: John (Sade) Myles, Taylia Dixon, Taneka Dixon, Willie Dixon, William Dixon, and Isaiah Bednar-Warren and her bonus children, Andre, Carlos, and Dionne.
Carla was proud of her sobriety of 19 years, as a testimony to her love for her family and that it is never to late to start over.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Carolyn Myles.
Carla’s memory will also be cherished by her siblings: Mark Anthony “Tony” Myles, Andre Myles, Bernardis Cruel, Jackie Myles, Robert Myles, Michelle Myles, Gigi Tyner, Tyra, Myra , and John. She was a loving grandmother to a host of grandchildren, whose lives she brightened with her laughter and affection. She is also survived by many cousins and friends.
Carla’s vivacity and zest for life extended beyond her family. She had a passion for dance and singing, embodying joy with every move and note. As she connected with others effortlessly, Carla became a trusted confidante, always offering kind words of encouragement and fostering forgiveness among all she encountered.
Visitation 11:00am and Funeral 12:00 noon September 28, 2023, at MARLAN GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST 5456 E. Livingston Ave. Interment at Green Lawn Cemetery.
