Carletta Barnes

Carletta Barnes, age 79, born in Steubenville, Ohio, passed away on November 23, 2024 in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from Steubenville High School in 1962 and furthered her education at Steubenville Business College where she graduated in 1963.

Carletta loved to travel. Throughout her life, she lived in Steubenville, OH, Memphis, TN, and Columbus, OH. She worked at First National Bank, Jefferson County Welfare Office, and Melon Bank as a loan officer before retiring from OSU Medical Center in 2011.

Carletta was a dedicated Jehovah Witness since November 10, 1979. She loved all her sisters and brothers all over the world.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Linda Bryant; daughter, Lisa Mitchell; granddaughter, Kenyatta Barnes and grandson's, Gregory Barnes and Montyel Barnes, whom she raised; great grandchildren, Quintin Wilson and Sanequa Bynes. She lived to see her first great great grandchild Calaya Barnes. She is also survived by many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many other family members who she dearly loved.

Carletta is preceded in death by her mother, Rosetta Barnes; brother, Griffin Barnes; sister's, Dr. Alvera H. Barnes and Lillian Johnson; and brother, David Barnes.

It was Carletta's wish not to have a service. Please keep her family and friends in your prayers. Special thank you to the Jehovah Witness community for being with her to the end.
