Carol C. Caldwell

Carol Cassandra Caldwell “Sam” was born in Charlotte, North Carolina to Bobby Greene and Ruby Lee Caldwell on December 1, 1960. She was reared in Columbus, Ohio and got her wings April 16, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.

Sam, as most of us called her, was the seventh of nine children. She dearly loved the Lord and accepted God into her life at an early age. She enjoyed dressing up for a good Church service, singing along to her favorite gospel selections. She attended Columbus city schools and worked as a nurse for several years. Some of her favorite co-workers at Crown Point included Bonnie and Teresa.

Sam was known in Windsor Terrace as one of the mothers the young people admired and looked up to. She would often spend time with them, invite them to come in and eat, she loved to cook. And next to cooking, she loved a clean house. When all else was done, Sam enjoyed a good long shopping trip. She absolutely loved and adored her children and grandchildren, she often said they were all she had & filled every part of her heart. Perhaps her greatest gift was accepting people for who they were and not judging them for their mistakes.
Sam was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby and Ruby; brother, John Avery and his wife, Pat; and sister, Taiesha Weh/Carolyn.

Sam leaves to cherish her memory children, Ruby, Ricktoria and Nicole; grandchildren, Jacob, Jamela, Tyshawn, Jamaya, and Ginobi; great grandchild, Peyton Manning; sisters Anita Jill Caldwell from Florida, Shirley Foster from Maryland, Barbara Wray Caldwell, Rita LaVerne Caldwell, and Mary Littleton; brothers, Joseph Michael Caldwell, Charles Edward Caldwell and Tony Greene; uncle, Joseph Massey, aunts, Hattie Mae Harville, both in Charlotte, North Carolina and Shirley Massey of Ohio; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews as well as countless friends, all whom he loved dearly, favorite nephew, Samuel Edward Caldwell; favorite cousin who was her lifeline, friend, and prayer warrior throughout her life, Robin (Phillip) Green; special niece she saw as a daughter, Adriana Caldwell; other nieces, Imani Gates, and Shyandra Jamison . . . for she was loved by many.

Private Services entrusted to MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.
