Carol Deneen Davenport

Carol “Deneen” Davenport was born in Charleston, West Virginia to William F. Howard III and Carol June Davenport.

Carol Deneen Davenport (Lovey Dovey) went home peacefully on Sunday September 4, 2022.

Deneen was the life of her family and any group gathering. Her relationship with her mother and the other “Golden Girl” was absolutely adorable. With her joyous and infectious personality, she always found ways to get through the struggles of life with comedic story telling. She loved good food, referred to herself as a foodie, lived for community-based coaching particularly mentoring youth and helping those fighting addiction. She loved scary movies and Halloween, forensic mystery shows, and was an avid and faithful Dallas Cowboys fan, despite their consistent losing streak.

Deneen was the best type of person you would ever want to meet. She was a blessing to all who crossed her path. She always found a way to make a human connection with anyone despite their journey in life. Her superpower and ministry was helping people find themselves and she was a conduit for gut wrenching laughter. She lived by the mantra of “a judgment free zone” and left a lasting impression on anybody she came in contact with. She loved Church and Christ, living life to the fullest, and anyone who met her received joy, love, acceptance, laughter, and a home cooked meal. She uplifted everyone and was always there to support anyone in need. It didn’t matter the time of day. She allowed for people to be authentic and would turn a stranger into a friend.

The gift of love that she gave to the children in the community, her family, and people in general was overwhelming and a joy to see. Her love was always overflowing.

Deneen is proceeded in death by her father, William Howard lll, Maternal Grandparents, Reverend James (Martha) Youngblood, Paternal Grandfather, William F. Howard ll, Aunt/Uncle Brenda (Red) Payne Nephew(s), Charrod Hollingsworth, Brandon Youngblood, Nieces, Carlisa Crowell, and Deja (Loaf) Lowe, and Great Niece, Aubrey Willoughby.

Deneen leaves to cherish her memories her Mother Carol June Davenport, her eldest daughter and son-in-law Amber (Tavares) Dishmon, her middle daughter and husband Rickia (Shawyn) Jones, her youngest daughter Chauncie Sharpe, her siblings, and spouses James “Scooter” (Tillie) Youngblood, Donna (Kevin) Cook, Steven (Crystal) Davenport, Carlos (Tylondia) Davenport, Cheri (Ivan) Johnson, Terry Howard, Les (Mary) Ridley, and Jermayne Crowell. 6 Grandchildren, Mallaki, Danaja, Malana, Kori, Amyrah and Dani, Honorary son (Frederick Washington), and a host of cousins, relatives extended family and friends.

Deneen was wholeheartedly one of the purest souls and she loved unconditionally. Her teachings will forever be in our hearts! She is and will always be our forever fighter and SHERO!

Rest Peacefully, Sister, Mom, Friend, Gmama and “Golden Girl”
