Cary James (CJ) Peaks, age 66, of Columbus, Ohio, departed this life on Saturday,
December 28, 2024 at his home in Logan, Ohio. He was born on April 19, 1958, in Columbus, Ohio to Cary Leonard and Helen Marie Peaks.
He grew up in "Flytown" a close-knit community which is known today as Victorian Village. He graduated from Central High School in June, 1976. After graduating high school, he worked a short time for Able Printing company. He had a interest in electrical work and went to the Journeyman Electrician at International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) where he also worked after graduation.
After several years working at IBEW, he became self employed as a journeyman electrician. During the years of self-employment, he met many people and formed lasting friendships with several of them. Because of his fair pricing and expertise, he traveled to various states, saving many people money on their electrical projects. He continued to work until his health prevented him from doing so.
He was a proficient percussionist, and played the drums for the Ebenezer Baptist Jr. Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Landis (Chummy) Brown, Jr. He also played drums for Tommy Adams' community choir for a few years.
