Chantal Denise James

Chantal Denise James was born on August 18,1976 to Robert L. and Ruby M. James. She was the youngest of four siblings, born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. She accepted the Lord in her life at an early age and even through her illness her life reflected the power of God’s love, His grace, His mercy and His divine healing.

Chantal graduated from Mifflin High School in 1994. She was active on the tennis team, the Mifflin Choir and the Mifflin Ensemble. She was known and recognized by many for her gifted voice and her ability to teach and train the voices of others. She expressed her love and passion for music through the ministry of directing. Prior to the decline in her health, Chantal was the anointed director of the New Mt. Sinai C.O.G.I.C mass choir. She also directed other local choirs and groups.

Chantal had a special love for people, especially children. She expressed her love, by fostering abused and neglected children. In 1999, she was licensed through the State of Ohio and contracted through The Village Network of Columbus where she invited children into her home and life. She provided them with the love and compassion they needed to become empowered to soar above their situations. Chantal remained an advocate devoted to families until 2017 when her health no longer permitted her to continue. Although Chantal took this passion seriously, she did not limit herself, but rather sought out to further her education and pursue other endeavors. In 2008 Chantal attended Columbus State Community College where she earned her Associate of Arts Degree. In 2010 she attended the University of Phoenix where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. In 2013 she earned a Master of Public Administration degree with a certification in Health Management from DeVry University and Keller Graduate School of Management.

Chantal’s experience and educational background both played as major ingredients to her success. She considered it an honor to be a Resource Coordinator and Site Director in the Whitehall City Schools. Blessed with an entrepreneurial vision, she exposed this gift when she became an educator in the Columbus City School District as well as one of the after school and summer enrichment programs. Chantal also birthed Sessions LLC. This company became one with her as she sought out to brand the Brande.

In June of 2002 Chantal birthed the greatest of gifts, her twins Zachariah and Ozyon James. All who knew her knew one thing that was truly solid and grounded was her love for her children, whom she called her jewels. She had so much life yet left living that she shall continue to live for many decades to come. Amongst the many accomplishments Chantal earned in life, the greatest of them is the relationship and commitment she confesses to having with God. We believe that the soul of her will rest in the arms of Our Heavenly Father.

Chantel was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Robert L. lusane and Sammy L. James and her grandmother, Louise James.

Chantal is greatly loved by many. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, a son, Zachariah James; daughter, O’Zyon James; beloved parents, Robert and Ruby James; two sisters, Merlyn and Cynthia James; brother, Roger James all of Columbus, Ohio; and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.
