Charles D. Loggins

Charles Daniel Loggins was the third child born to Charles Earl and Mattye Jo (Dunn) Loggins on November 30, 1974, in Winona, Minnesota. He joined the United Presbyterian Church at an
early age.

Chuckie spent his early years in Lewiston, Minnesota, until his father’s work transferred the family to Chicago, then on the Lincoln, Nebraska, and finally to Columbus, Ohio, in 1996.
Despite the move to Ohio, he remained a Cornhusker fan – Go Big Red!

Charles earned his associate degree in Sociology from the Ohio State University at Newark. Sales (over twenty years at Verizon & T-Mobile) and customer service were his niche. His most
recent work was as a Customer Service Agent with the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles. He loved spending time with his kids and riding his motorcycle.

Whether you knew him as Charles, Chuck, or Chuckie, his laugh (no, cackle) was distinctive and infectious.  Otherwise, Charles had a quiet charm and friendly demeanor. He made friends
easily and was always ready for a robust political debate.

On September 29, 2023, Charles succumbed to personal struggles and found himself with no option but to leave this life behind. His departure was sudden and far too soon.

Charles was preceded in death by his father. Left to treasure his memory are his greatest loves – his three children: son Stockton (Julie), who is 16 y.o., daughter Pyper (Melissa), 14 y.o., and
son Ronin (Melissa), 12 y.o. He also leaves behind his years-long partner, Julie Michael.

Chuck’s family will also carry his legacy: his mother, Mattye; his siblings, Casandra (Curtis, Jr.) Mitchell of Chicago, Anita Marie Dunn Loggins of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Michael Dunn Loggins of Columbus; nieces and nephews Chelsea, Caitlin, Curtis III (aka, Trey), Caleb, Camille, and Corinne Mitchell; Nicole Miller and Amy Terry; Michael, Jr. (mom Ashleigh); great-niece Sophia and great-nephews Sebastian Mitchell (mom Tiera) and Niko Miller; aunts Rubye Loggins and Ella Burchfield; special cousins Gwen Lynette (Bo) Beckom, Dante’ (Carolyn) Fullilove; MaSonya (Meyers) Scott, Lilly and James, and Aishia Burchfield and SaNiiyah; also a host of other relatives and friends to include his life-long friend Tyron Price.
