In Loving Memory of Charles E. Newton Sr.- "Pooh Pooh", born on October 23, 1979 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Charlie Newton Jr. and Virginia Newton.
Charles grew up attending Shady Grove Baptist Church of Christ Ministries under to leadership of the late Bishop C.M. Davis. In his youth, he played football for Mohawk. He graduated from South High School. Charles served as a security guard for Yeshua is Lord Ministries in his later years. He was loved by his church family.
Charles and his late brother Jeremy loved being at Salesians Boys and Girls Club of America and Milo-Grogan Recreation Center. He developed many lasting friendships from these recreation centers. kCharles met Mona Tumblin August 29, 2020 and they were married May 29, 2021. She lovingly called him "Pooh Bear". Charles loved spending time with his family and socializing with his friend. He was dedicated to working out at the gym. He encouraged his wife and son to work out as well. Charles loved football, his favorite teams were Ohio State and Cleveland Browns. charles enjoyed working for Donatos. His co-workers called him "ChucK".
Charles will always be remembered for his strong, magnetic, winning personality. He also did not have a problem "telling you like it is!": He loved making people laugh and telling stories. He lived life to the fullest.
Charles was blessed the last year of his life to have his son Charles Jr. live with him and his wife Mona. He attended school from their home. Charles Sr. encouraged his son to do the right thing. He was dedicated to teach him responsibility and to achieve higher goals in life.
Charles departed this life on Monday, December 16, 2024 at the age of 45. He was predeceased by his father, Charlie Newton Jr., son Canaan Newton, stepson Brandon and brother Jeremy.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Mona "Sugar Foot" Newman; son, Charles E. Newton Jr.; mother, Virginia Newton; special sister, Kenyetta; three granddaughters, many aunts and uncles, a great aunt, nieces, great nieces, nephew, many cousins and special friends, Nute, Trell, and Dez.
