Charles R. Underwood, Sr

Charles R. Underwood Sr was born on December 19, 1943, in Pensacola, FL to Margret D and Herbert L Underwood Sr. The two moved to Columbus, Ohio where Charles went on to attend and graduate from Central High School class of 1961.

Charles joined the Air Force after high school, where he served until 1967 with an honorable discharge. Just one year later he welcomed his one and only child Charles Richard Underwood, Jr, with his wife Paula R. (Byrd) Underwood. Shortly after, he began a career working at AEP as a lineman.

Charles went home to be with the Lord on January 13, 2023. He is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret D. Underwood; father, Herbert L Underwood Sr; wife, Paula Underwood; son, Charles R “Ricky” Underwood Jr; daughter in-law, Alysia R. Underwood; and sisters, Gwendolyn D. Day and Linda Lawrence.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory his grandchildren, Marisha Mitchell, Tequila Underwood, Charles (Alicia) Underwood III, andCharity Underwood, and a host of great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
