Charlie “Frank” Murphy, Jr

Charlie “Frank” Murphy Jr. was called to eternal rest in the peace of his own home on December 13, 2020 after 68 years of life.

Frank graduated as an East High School Tiger in 1970 and pursued a degree at Bliss College. He followed in his father’s footsteps and served as a technical sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and Ohio National Guard.

Frank was also a dedicated member of Faith Ministries and spent time doing community service with the Torch Prison Ministry and Men of Valor. After working many years at Grange Mutual Insurance, he lived in total relaxation in retirement where you would often find him cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers, a team he represented till his very last breath. He loved being surrounded by family and good company. His no-nonsense demeanor never stopped the smiles and laughter that he brought to others.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie F. Murphy Sr. and Rachel Murphy and uncles, Henry and Albert.

Frank leaves his legacy with his daughter, Rachel Marie (Chris) Ransom; sisters, Charlotte Murphy and Zelda Murphy Jefferson; nieces, Marcia, Carlotta (Dwight), Halle, Naja, and Aubrey; nephews, Ron (Neysa), Chris, Khaliff (Kelly), Charles, Rashaun, Isaiah, and Cameron; grandchildren, Otis Jr., Ariah, Chris Jr., Kiara, Kennedy, Kevin Jr., and Ka’vona; two great-grandchildren, Moriah and Maria; and a host of cousins, other relatives and special friends.

Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Monday, December 28, 2020 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.

Interment at Union Cemetery.
