Cheryn L. Gray entered this life on May 13, 1948 to Alvesta & Ralph Majors Sr. She departed this life September 6, 2023 after an extended illness.
During her 75 years of life, she was a pillar of strength even during all of her circumstances. She was known for her loving, caring spirit throughout the community. Her infectious energy attached to everyone she came in contact with. She was a proud graduate of Malabar High School. She also briefly attended Central State University.
Her professional career was devoted to General Motors where she diligently worked as an assembler for 32 years. Her dedication and commitment to her craft earned her admirations and respect of her colleagues a great testament to her work ethic and perseverance.
She was a lifelong member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. She dearly loved Bishop William & Lady Patricia Morris and the entire church body. She was a faithful and devoted servant, her years on the Hospitality Ministry meant a lot to her She greeted everyone with love and a smile. Every year she looked forward to attending Miss Bessie Wilkin’s Christmas Brunches where she was crowned “Christmas Queen”. Cheryn enjoyed traveling, casino and shopping. trips. Her greatest love was her children. Her love had no bounds she made it evident and there was nothing out of reach for them.
There are no words that can describe how sorely she will be missed by her daughter Toyia Majors, her grandsons Kharun Bounds, Kane Parence, and Nakovie Feagin who she shared her home with who affectionately gave her the nickname “Pearlie. Cheryn also enjoyed her great granddaughters, Nylah Bounds her Jr. caretaker, Kaidyn Bounds the Jr. Diva and Alahni Parence affectionately known as “Nugget”., her sister Carla Elaine Majors, Aunt Mother Melba Jackson, special niece Franceen Wilkins -Edward, A Host of cousins, & Special friends Diane Peoples, Toni Jones, Doris King & Paula Caldwell.
She was preceded in death by her parents., her daughter Kimberlee ” Cupcake” Gray who was her caretaker until her untimely death, grandson Christian Majors Coffee, her loving and caring siblings Christinia Diane Majors Wilkins & Ralph Majors Jr. and niece Ashlee Petty whom she dearly loved.
The funeral service will take place on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 12:00 pm at the Shiloh Baptist Church, 130 E. Second Street with a visitation from 11:00 am. Following the ceremony Cheryn will be laid to rest in Mansfield Ceremony.
