Clarence Smith 86, of Columbus, Ohio. Transitioned on July 5, 2023, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born Sept 8, 1936, to the late Deoders Smith and Margaret Jackson, sharecroppers.
from Union Town, Alabama. Their union created 10 beautiful children. Clarence affectionately known as Buddy or C “See” Smith, knew him, knew he was about taking care of his family and taking care of his business. A multi-preneur, Clarence CEO of C ‘SEE’: Smith Black Top and Construction and MC Investments.

C Smith was a loving, husband, family man, farmer, renowned traveler, avid fisherman, businessman and friend, he enjoyed his life to the fullest. Clarence and Mildreds love affair and union brought together a blended family of five children: Sandy, George, Theresa, Shelia & Rita Smith -Granderson. Clarence is proceeded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Mildred Smith, 9 brothers David Sr. (Dorothy Smith) Willie, Sam, Johnny, Charles, Wilbert, and Alonzo, and 2 sisters Marie (Jesse) Crooms & Mary Baker, daughters Rita, Shelia (Charles) Latham, Theresa (Glenda Hannah, son George Hannah, grandson James Latham Jr. Shawn Thompson and granddaughter Teniqua Thompson. He is survived by son Lee Hannah Jr., 10 grandchildren LaTanya (Lamont Settles), Tiffany (Will) Bowers, Tamika Latham, Angela Hannah, Alphonso (Boo) Stephens, Toyan , Rachel and Robin Johnson, Lariesha Williams, Bridgette Tillman, Lamar Thompson, 26 great grandchildren, Jaymee Yoast, who Papa was granted legal guardianship, Nnekia Peaks, Jimmicia Latham, Unique Bowers, Arianna Settles, Great granddaugher Jaylnn Yoast, to name a few. Special great nephew Arthur Jr & Samerah Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins. Special friend Johnnie Mae Foster, Yvonne Jones longtime friend Greg Conley, Doug Ward and Johnny Walker. Papa you will be missed, so much! I will miss him saying “I’m peeping through the peep hole” …Now you will be peeping down from heaven! We love you!!
