Claudia Laverne Jenkins went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 24, 2024.  Born on May 23, 1938, to Marthabelle and Lawrence Jackson in Morgantown, West Virginia.  She passed away in Columbus, Ohio at the age of 86.  Heaven is rejoicing upon Claudia’s arrival.

She moved from Morgantown, West Virginia to Dayton, Ohio in the early 1940’s, where she graduated from Roosevelt High School.  Later she received her Bachelor of Arts in German and Russian from Ohio University.   Claudia was a devout Christian and a member of St. Philips Episcopal Church in Columbus, Ohio.

Claudia was an honest hard worker, who worked Tirelessly to provide for her family.  She worked at The Ohio State University in Dairy Science, while doing a multitude of odd jobs to make ends meet, from selling Decko Plants, to Mary Kay, Avon and Amway.  She even collected pinecones to make pinecone wreaths to sell during the holidays.    She later worked at St. Anthony (Columbus), Bethesda Oak (Cincinnati) and ACRM (Woodstock, GA) in IVF services.

Claudia was a woman ahead of her time.  She was very creative, resourceful and positive role model.  She was an accomplished piano player, loved to play the guitar, crochet, watch movies and was an avid reader.  Other hobbies include getting her hair done, Starbucks, and Sudoku.

She was generous, fair, kind and wise.  She had a genuine taste for “quality” in clothes, household items, food and more.

Claudia will be missed by many.  She’s proceeded in death by: her parents, Marthabelle and Lawrence Jackson; former husband Dixon F. Expressions of Gratitude

When it seems that our loss was too great to bear, we looked up and our friends were there.  With flowers and words, written and spoken, with smiling hearts opened.  You comforted us and shared our grief.  God will bless you, granting all relief.  Our gratitude cannot be adequately expressed with mere words, but they are the best we can offer in saying, “Thank you!”
