Curtis Lee Braswell, age 61. Sunrise November 5, 1954 and Sunset June 3, 2016

“Death is not an enemy of life, but it is a friend. For it is the knowledge that our years are limited which makes them so precious. It is truth that time is loaned to us which makes us, at our best, look upon our years as a trust only for a temporary keeping.”

Curtis Lee Braswell was born November 5, 1954 to Martha and the late Baulee Braswell at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Oh. Curtis went on to graduate from Mifflin high school and eventually Franklin University with a Bachelor’s of Science.  Curtis had an active military life and traveled overseas to places such as Korea during his time with the Army.  While in the Army, he boxed and competed in numerous competitions while winning awards as a fly-weight.  Once he was honorably discharged, Curtis continued his love of travel and living in various states such as Texas, Arizona, and Nevada.  Though he could never stay in one place he would always make time to come back home to Columbus to visit his family and friends.  Curtis was a man of many hats and worked in many different fields.  From owning his own business to becoming a CPA to being a colorful bus driver, Curtis was a man who always had a plan.  During a trip to Belize, Curtis fell in love with the city and also fell in love with his future wife Inis Braswell (nee Audinett).  Now looking forward to retirement Curtis desired to move to Belize to spend the rest of his days with his extended family and his new home which he had started construction on prior to his death. His wife will complete the construction of the home in honor of his memory.

Curtis departed this life on June 6th, 2016 at Renown Hospital and is preceded in death by his father Baulee Braswell.  He leaves behind to cherish his memories, mother Martha Braswell; wife Inis Braswell; sister Sherita (Fothen) Braswell-Jennings; sons Lorenzo Roberts and Dwight Puerto; daughters Tamara Macklin and Ashley Puerto; Special cousins Rickey Braswell, Calvin Simms, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews in the U.S and Belize.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.  Thou prepares a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thouh anointest my head with oil: my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dell I the house of the Lord forever.”
