Danita Harris

Danita Harris “Nita” was born June 30, 1966, in Columbus, Ohio to Arlillian Anderson-Harris. Raised by her grandmother, Elnora Robinson and William Casey. Danita was a caring, and very helpful child growing up, and known to be quiet, laid back, but would curse you out something bad if she had to. 

Nita graduated from Walnut Ridge High School and went on to work in the mental health field giving almost 20 years of service to Columbus Area Inc.

Nita devoted most of her life and time to her only child “daughter”, Donnikka and 2 grandchildren, Jayla and Jayion. Nita also spent time enjoying bingo, trying new restaurants, playing her lottery numbers, and watching sports, HGTV, and the cooking channel.

On Friday July 26, 2024, Nita suffered a stroke which led to a heart attack that would call her home to be with the Lord. Waiting to greet her was her mother, Arlillian, grandmother Elnora and William Casey. 

Leaving behind her loving daughter, Donnikka Harris; grandchildren, Jayla Robinson-Harris and Jayion Dunson; Danita leaves behind the following love ones to cherish her memories, Aunt Evelyn Stewart;  sisters, Cheryl Harris (Jeffrey Sparks) and Jennifer Harris; nieces; Shakiyla Harris, Tamera Harris, Aaliyan Harris and Destinee Powell; nephews, Jeffrey Harris, David Sparks and Ryan Sparks. A host of great nieces, and nephews and longtime special friends, Raymond Smith, Renee Willis, and the Willis family, along with many other loving friends and acquaintances. 

Visitation 1:00 PM and Memorial Service 2:00 PM Friday, August 16, 2024 at Chapel of Peace - East, 5456 E. Livingston Ave.
