Darlene L. Fleming

Darlene Leretta Fleming, age 83, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017 at MT. Carmel, St. Ann’s in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on September 7, 1934 in Fleming, Ohio to Herbert Zanes and Geneva Viney.

Darlene grew up in Zanesville, Ohio and graduated from Zanesville High School.

She married Franklin Fleming in 1954 and was happily married for 22 years.

Darlene worked at Abbott Laboratories and retired as an Analyst/clerk in purchasing.

She was a devoted and faithful member of Calvary Tremont Missionary Baptist Church where she was a Deaconess, president of the nursing board, and also sang in the choir.

Darlene also volunteered at Riverside Hospital working at the visitors desk. Darlene loved being around people and helping in any way she could. She enjoyed bowling, and playing candy crush. Darlene was diagnosed with end stage renal disease in 2010. She endured a lot of pain and suffering and fought a good fight. Now all the suffering is gone.

She leaves to cherish her memory Roshelle (James) Walker, Brenda Fleming, Carmen (Michael) Dixon, Sandra Fleming, Frank Fleming Jr., Eric (Cynthia) Fleming and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at Calvary Tremont Missionary Baptist Church 1255 Leonard Ave. on December 28, 2017 wake at 10:00 AM and service at 11.
