Derrick Reynolds

Derrick Anthony Reynolds was born March 11, 1952 in Kingston Jamaica He attended Trent Town High School, where he graduated.

Derrick then went on to work for KSAC Market as a supervisor. At the age of 28 he left home to move to Kansas City. He then moved to Florida and married his now ex-wife, Phyllis Gene Reynolds. They made a vow to always remain friends and to always check up on one another, which they did.

Derrick then moved to Columbus, Ohio where he gained employment at The Value City as a supervisor, and later worked at The Ohio State University Hospital as a Nurse Aide. He was also an Over the Highway truck driver until he was no longer able to work because of medical health reasons. While in Ohio he met and dated and lived with Sharon Lee Saunders for a number of years, while accepting her children and grandchildren as his own. They also remained friends up until his untimely death. Derrick went peacefully in his apartment where he loved to be. He enjoyed watching old westerns or listening to his Jamaican music on his stereo.

Derrick was a loving person yet very set in his own ways and was very stern about making changes to the way he was used to doing things. You couldn’t help but to love him when you met him. He loved his family dearly and would do anything he could to help anyone of them.

Derrick is preceded in death by his father, Leonard Vernon Reynolds; grandparents, Felix Brown and MiMi Clark; brother, Ray Reynolds; and son, Andrew Derrick Reynolds.

Derrick leaves to carry on his memory and legacy, his mother, Lena Brown; sisters, Joan and Corinne; brothers, Paul, Peter, and Everton Reynolds; sons, Karl Neal Reynolds and Fred Scott Saunders; daughters, Denise, Debbie Reynolds, and Meka (Micah) Tolliver; granddaughters, Deneva Braham, Shawntae Reynolds, Davi-Anna Braham, Scout, Marshay, Scottland, and Scarlet; grandsons, Malachi Brooks, Amos Reynolds, Da’mek, Richard, Te’Rah, and Kharon; great grandson, Damarcus; special friends, Michael Richards, Bill, Louis Smalls, and Earl Row; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
