In Loving Memory of Destiny Desiree Ellis
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Destiny Desiree Ellis, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. Destiny left this world surrounded by love and light, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever remain in our hearts.
Destiny was known for her bold and unapologetic personality. She had a remarkable way of telling it like it is, never afraid to speak her mind. Her honesty and authenticity were a hallmark of who she was. Beneath that fearless exterior, Destiny was beautiful inside and out—a true girly girl with an infectious zest for life.
One of Destiny’s greatest joys was her daughter, Raynn. She adored her little girl and loved her deeply, showering her with affection and unwavering devotion. In her downtime, Destiny enjoyed relaxing while watching the ID Channel, a small way she found peace amidst a busy life.
Destiny’s strength was an inspiration; despite her health challenges, she faced each day with a radiant smile, laughter, and a spirit that brought light to those around her. She was not just funny, loving, and caring—she was a fighter. Destiny showed incredible resilience throughout her journey, fighting with courage until she could fight no more. Her presence filled our home with joy, and her absence leaves an irreplaceable void.
Destiny’s legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her laughter, her love, and her strength will never be forgotten.
She leaves behind her devoted mother, Gwenda Boyd, her two brothers, Selwyn Ellis and Dayjour Shackelford, her sister, Essence Shackelford, her bonus sister, Taylor Haslett, and her beloved daughter, Raynn, whom she adored with all her heart. Destiny also shared her life with her boyfriend, Devonte Harshaw, who brought her happiness.
She is lovingly remembered by her uncles, Bryant (Kelly) McGhee, Andre McGhee, and Tyson Boyd; her niece, Ka’Layah Freeman; her bonus nieces, Paris, Akalyla, and Akeira; and many cousins whom she loved dearly.
Destiny was preceded in death by her grandmother, Faye Boyd, her great-grandmother, Modean McGhee, and her uncles, Shawn Boyd, Timmothy Gholston, and Charles McGhee.
She will be dearly missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
