Surrounded by loved ones, Dewayne peacefully passed away.

Dewayne’s life was a tapestry interwoven with moments of joy, commitment, and unwavering dedication. With a high school diploma in hand, Dewayne embarked on a career as a painter, extending his artistry through brushes and colors as a valued member of Colonial Painting and Decor. His skill and expertise elevated his work to a level of excellence, leaving a lasting impression on all who beheld his craftsmanship.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Dewayne joyfully embraced the role of a loving husband and father. His wife, Latonia Chatman-Manns, shared an unbreakable bond with him, built on a foundation of love and unwavering support. Together, they created a beautiful family, raising their children with devotion and care. Dewayne’s sons, Dewayne Ray, Cartavious Manns, and Donavon Chatman-Mannsand his daughters, Jharnakia Ray, and Latricia Chatman-Manns, were the pride and joy of his life. Their presence lit up his world, and his love for them knew no bounds. He was also survived by his stepchildren, Tionna (Brandon) Barksdale and Akeem Chatman and a host of Grandchildren, nieces,newphews, cousins and friends.

Dewayne’s spirit thrived in the company of his siblings, who were not just family but also his lifelong companions. Roosevelt (Vanessa Chatman) Manns, Fred Manns, Rev. Carl Eugene Manns, Kathryn Manns, and Beverly Johnson shared triumphant victories, cherished memories, and unwavering support. Each sibling played a significant role in shaping Dewayne’s journey, and their bond will forever be etched in their hearts. He was proceeded in death by his parents Samuel and Girthree Manns and siblings, Samella Wright, Wilbur Mann, and Patricia Manns.

Throughout his life, Dewayne found solace in simple pleasures. From engaging in spirited games of Dominos to showcasing his culinary skills on the grill, he found joy in the everyday moments. His competitive nature extended to the track field, where he proudly represented his high school as a state champion.

As we reflect upon Dewayne’s legacy, we acknowledge the countless lives he touched and inspired. His warm smile, infectious laughter, and genuine kindness endeared him to all who crossed his path. Dewayne’s genuine friendship extended beyond bloodlines, cultivating a special bond with his dear friend, Rodney Carter.
