Dinitia Jo Givens

Dinitia Jo Givens, 65, born December 6, 1953 and transcended this life on June 14, 2019. Born to the late Alfred Thrweatt and Anna Tye. Raised, by Raleigh and Anna Carter in Cincinnati, Ohio, after the passing of Alfred. The youngest of the family, Dinitia graduated from Mt. Healthy High School.
Dinitia give her life to Christ at a young age at, New Prospect Baptist Church and spent her life spreading the news of God’s love through encouraging words, volunteer work, and providing support to anyone in need.

She married the late Richard Givens in Cincinnati OH, and they lived happily together in Columbus, Ohio for many years. This union was blessed with three children: Damon, DeAnna and Dairen. Dinitia was a devoted and loving wife and mother, the center of their family.

Dinitia spent about 15 years providing care to young children in the family home, after the passing of her husband she was ready for a new challenge. She spent the last 14 years “giving her heart” to the students and staff at Paul Mitchell the School Columbus.

Preceding her in death, husband Richard Givens, parents Alfred Thrweatt and Anna (Raleigh) Carter, sister Blanda Thrweatt and sister-in-law Deborah “Debbie” Givens.

Dinitia leaves to cherish her memory children Damon (Lauren) Givens, DeAnna Givens, and Dairen (Kiele) Givens, grandchildren Kiersten, Dayln, Porter, Major, Kendall and August, in-laws, Richard and Blanch Givens, siblings: Victoria (Michael) Reese, Dorothy Williams, Warren Thrweatt, Raleigh (Ramona) Carter, Ralph (Betty) Carter, Ruth Carter and Joyce Carter, and many close relatives and friends. Dinitia never met a stranger and always let God use her for his work on this earth. While she was a strong, smart, amazing woman, she never took credit for anything; she gave all credit to God. She will be greatly missed.
