Donna Farrow

Donna Mae Farrow (D-Mae; Ms. Donna), age 54, of Columbus, Ohio, received her home-going wings on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. She was at home surrounded by her loved ones after a long battle she so desperately tried to fight. She was born in Radford, VA on October 29, 1962 to the late Latiney C. and Mollie L. (Austin) Farrow.

Ms. Donna was also preceded in death by her brothers James D. Farrow and Cecil J. Farrow; like-a-sister Shirley Miller; and nephew, Ralph Miller. She leaves to cherish her fond memories: best friend, significant other, care-giver until the end, Don Neely; loving children, Shaun. A. Farrow and Shanna L. Farrow (James Wallace); sisters, Shirley A. Sherman, Susie F. Bergsten (Kelvin); Jacqueline Willis (Joseph) and Gwen F. Houston, (Anthony); grandchildren, Naje’ Farrow, Jayla Wallace, Leauana Farrow and Naya Farrow; nieces and nephews: Tiayonna Sherman, Katima Farrow, and Tony Miller; great nieces and nephews: Jodeci Houston, Breonna Sherman, Antonio Houston, Daiz’ Juan Sherman, Ja’Niya Sherman-Hudgens, Jayden Houston, and Ka’Myah Lewis; adopted niece, Rhonda Elick; and a host of loved ones and friends.

Ms. Donna was a friend to many; she truly met no strangers. She was the most caring, kind-hearted, fun-loving, and generous person you would ever meet. She gave new meaning to the idiom of someone “giving you the shirt off of their back”. If she had it, you could get it. She lived a humble and simple life, but without a doubt lived life to its fullest.

Ms. Donna was indeed the life of any party and always knew how to make a good thing great. She was a hard-worker, comedian, avid reader, loved walking, and always saw the best in everyone. She was a sous chef for many years until she fell ill and had a special place in her heart for the elderly. While she was originally born in Hokie Nation, Ms. Donna was a Buckeye fan to the core. When she wanted to unwind, you could find her nestled away with suspenseful book, watching Law & Order or Criminal Minds, and/or drinking a cold beverage.

The family sincerely thanks everyone for contributing to Ms. Donna’s legacy and personal story during her short but full years with us. She will be sorely missed by all those whom she touched. Her charisma, zeal, and passion for life will never be forgotten and will forever live within us.
