Dorothy L. Gilbert

Dorothy Lewis Gilbert was born April 17, 1945 to Lovie and Rush Lewis and went home to be with the Lord on July 28, 2019.

Dorothy met the love of her life Freddie Gilbert and with that union came two sons, Frederick, and Sherman. Dorothy was employed at serve a nation for many years. Dorothy loved the spring time, she would put a lot of time and energy into her flowerbeds.

Dorothy loved the Lord. She was usher board president at Bethlehem Temple for many years. She loved to praise God, cook, her greens was a dish her family loved. Dorothy loved her family, and she loved her grandchildren dearly.

Dorothy is preceded in death by parents Lovie and Rush Lewis, husband Freddie Gilbert, brother Rush Lewis Jr., and grandson Kawme Patrick.

She leaves to cherish her memories; sons Frederick (Kim) Gilbert, and Sherman (Stacey) Gilbert, sister Beatrice Simpson of Hutchins, TX., grandchildren Elijahwon Reid, Alisha Reid, Victoria Gilbert, Robby Buck, Tashawnda (Jonathan) Patrick-Allen, Ashanti Gaffney, Angela Gaffney, and Zachary Parks, also a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation 11:00 AM and Funeral Service 12:00 PM Friday, August 9, 2019 at Bethel Temple, 2840 Lockbourne Rd,.

Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.
