Dorothy R. Williams

Dorothy Ruth Williams, also known to family and friends as “Dot”, was born on January 12, 1950, in Lauderdale, Mississippi.

She was the first-born child of six and, from at that blessed union of Albert and Annie Wilkins who preceded her in death they had three children (Dorothy, Willie, and Susie.)
Dorothy graduated Henry Horner elementary school and from Wendell Phillips High School, while there she was a cheerleader amongst being a part of other sports teams such as volleyball. She then went on to attend the Historical Malcom X College for two year. During her time there she worked for a prestigious law firm as an Administrative Assistant in downtown Chicago. From there she was employed at Hamilton Industrial, where fate introduced her to her husband Ester Williams.

The Couple was wed April 21, 1972, at the same church Dorothy gave her life to Christ, at the Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, Illinois. Dorothy then became an amazing wife and loving mother.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Ester Williams; one daughter, April Wilkins; two sons, Randy E. Williams Jr., LeShaun Williams (Jessylnn); three sisters, Bessie (Susie) Curb (Kenneth), Rosemary Wilkins and Ruby Jones; two brother, Willie Wilkins (who precedes her in death) Phillip Wilkins; twelve grandchildren, Marquise A. Wilkins, Mel’’Lisa Wilkins, Marqual D. Wilkins, Zayne Harshaw, Marcus G. Wilkins, Kedrick West Jr., Shakira S. Williams, Ayanna L. Williams, Nakia Williams, Bryanna Williams, Crystal Williams, and December Williams; three great grandchildren and one on the way; one special friend Christina Ross. She also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation 11:00AM and Funeral Service 12:00PM Friday, July 19, 2019 at The Chapel of Peace East, 5456 E. Livingston Ave.

Interment at Evergreen Burial Park
