RICKS
Douglas M. Ricks, Jr. was born on February 1, 1966 to Douglas M. Ricks, Sr. and the late Dorothy B. Walker in Buffalo, NY. He was called home to be with the Lord on January 31, 2011. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age, and was baptized at Shady Grove Baptist Church.
After high school, Douglas, aka Jr., moved to Long Island, NY where he was a valued employee at Bloomingdales department store for a number of years. Once Jr. returned to Columbus, OH, he began to work at Klean-A-Kar car wash downtown where he became a cherished employee for over 20yrs.
Jr. was passionate about two things in his life, his family and music. He was an avid lover of music from all genres and generations, but we all know there was only one true artist, in his eyes, Prince. From Purple Rain to Musicology there was no other artist, Jr. gravitated more towards then the artist known as Prince.
Jr. was a loving and protective son, brother, uncle and father. He is preceded in death by his loving mother Dorothy B. Johnson, Step-Father Jesse J. Johnson Sr., grandparents Willie Mae and Earl Walker, niece Janeia Johnson, nephews Leon Johnson and Daryle Poole.
He leaves to cherish his memory son Devon Ricks, daughter Deja Ricks, Mother of his children Danita Taylor. Sisters Beverly (Andre) Evans, Debera (Craig) Wilkes, Tina Jean Ricks, Felicia Johnson, and one brother Jesse James Johnson Jr. Nieces and nephews Candice Walker, Craig and Philip Wilkes, Tela, Saneqkia, Desiree, Carlos, Brittany and Javon Ricks, Jessica Parnell, Danielle and Ramone Johnson Anthony, Jasmine, Ashley, Elijah, Shatoya and Eichael Johnson. Host of Great-Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and close Friends.
