Mr. Dwaine J. Chapman, age 41, went home to be with the LORD on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. Mr. Chapman was born on Monday, February 21, 1983, in Mansfield, Ohio, to Dwaine J. Owens and Perrise A. Chapman.
As a young child he resided in Cleveland, Ohio, but later moved back to his hometown of Mansfield, Ohio. Dwaine attended Mansfield City public schools and later obtained his GED. He loved to play football and basketball and played both at Mansfield Sr. High School. Dwaine had a great sense of humor and was a generous, kindhearted man who loved to help people.
As an adult, Dwaine loved spending time with his children and working on his many projects. He loved GOD and believed in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. One of his favorite slogans was “I love so much, I don’t know how to hate.” Dwaine was a very forgiving man. He was a “jack of all trades” when it came to business and, was talented in writing grants, contracts, business proposals, and legal pleadings. He loved mentoring the youth through basketball clinics; park events, study groups, and more. He loved helping to improve our community in any way possible. One of his last projects was the “ImME Movement”. This movement was created to promote people to do right by one another, and to support those who could not support themselves.
Mr. Dwaine Chapman leaves to cherish in his memory four sons, Dangelo McKinney, Dwaine McKinney, Jahz’el McKinney and Christian D. Brown (Dwaine raised him as his own son); three daughters, Cho’zyne McKinney, Gianna McKinney, and Princess McKinney; two granddaughters, Zurie McKinney and Gianni Stoneburner; father, Dwaine Owens; mother, Perrise Chapman; sister, Tomika Robinson; two brothers, Quinton Mack and Deonte Jacocks; special friend, Krystal McKinney; two grandmothers, Mrs. Dorthy Owens and Mrs. Bobbie Horton; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and all of Mansfield and Cleveland, Ohio.
