Elder Ronald Jester

Elder Ronald W. Jester, 75, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021, peacefully at his home.

Elder Jester was born on February 23, 1946, to the late Homer and Virginia Jester in Mansfield, Ohio. He was a 1965 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. serving in the Vietnam war always honoring the Corps’ “Semper Fidelis” (“Always Faithful”) motto. Elder Jester was a dedicated member of Maddox Memorial Church for 30 years where he served as the President of the Pastoral Anniversary Committee (under Elder Aaron Williams, Sr.), Advisory Director (under Aaron Williams, Jr.) and faithfully served the Lord. He loved Christ, he loved his Church, and he loved his community and being known as: Pop Jester, Uncle Deac, Coach Jester, Kodiak, Master DI (drill instructor), Chisco, friend and Elder Jester. He was employed by the City of Mansfield and was 27 years retired from Gormon Rupp, where he was respected by his peers and cultivated long lasting friendships.

Elder Jester loved and cherished his wife of 54 years, Yvonne Jester, lovingly known to only him as his “Hunzy”. He exemplified his love for her every day of his life by acts of kindness, loving kisses, serenades and providing a hedge of protection for his wife. He guided, guarded and governed the affairs of his home until the day he went home to be with the Lord. In addition to being a loving husband to his wife, he was a father, grandfather, cousin, friend, and community father to many.

Elder Jester leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Yvonne (Luben); 4 children: Ronald L. (Vanessa) Jester; Carlton A. Jester; Mario D. Jester and Darrell W. Jester, of Overland Park, KS.; 8 Grandchildren: Kiara Jester, Demario Jester, Teal Jester, Dorian Jester, Darien Jester, Jasmine Jester, Daris Jester and Dezmien Jester; 4 great-grandchildren and host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and church family who expressed unconditional love for him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Virginia Jester and his sister Joyce Jester.
Visitations 6-8pm Thursday December 16, 2021 at Maddox Memorial COGIC and Friday December 17, 2021 at 10am until start of the Home Going Service at 11am. Interment with Military Honors at Mansfield Cemetery.
