Elizabeth Fratina Yuill

Elizabeth Fratina Shipley Townsel Yuill was born on October 6, 1943 to the late Ida Mae Johnson and the late William Claude Shipley in Shelbyville, Kentucky. God called her home to him on November 18, 2012 at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville, Ohio. Elizabeth or “Tee-tee” as she was known by those who loved her best, graduated from Lincoln Institute in Lincoln Ridge, Kentucky in 1960.

Immediately after graduation she married Clyde Townsel of Delaware, Ohio. To their union were born five children: Clyde, Denia, Kevin, Dominic and Lejuan all of Columbus, Ohio. “Tee” had accepted Christ at an early age and spent her adult life as a faithful member of Morning Star Baptist Church where she served as a talented and faithful member of the choir.

She took courses at Columbus Institute of Technology in Secretarial Science from Winter 1972 until Summer 1974. She also studied cosmetology at the Nationwide Beauty Academy in Columbus, Ohio. “Tee” has always been a hard worker. She was a former employee of Owens Illinois located in Streter, Illinois. She worked at the Jack Bowman Steakhouse in Columbus, Ohio. She was an employee of the Imperial House Hotel in Columbus, Ohio.

From 1972 until 1975 she was an employee of J.C. Penny’s Casualty Insurance. From 1988 until her retirement in 2000, she was a valued employee of Merck-Medco Rx where she received numerous awards for her outstanding work performance.

She is preceded in death by her grandmother Katherine Dowell Hayes, Father William Claude Shipley, Mother Ida Mae Johnson Shipley Drake, brother William Sydney Shipley, sister Regina Lee Jackson, and brother Ronald H. Shipley.

She leaves to mourn her passing sister Oretha Jackson, sister Charmaigne (keith) Hairston, brother Larry D. Drake, Dwayne D. Drake all of Ohio, brother Fernando Terrance (Joanne) Shipley of Tennessee, daughter Colette 9Keith) Houston, son Clyde (Sharmele) Townsel, daughter Denia Scott, son Kevin Townsel, son Dominic (Carie) Townsel, son Lejuan Townsel, 20 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
