Eric K. Chilton

Eric Kennedy Chilton

Sunrise July 28, 1960  – Sunset March 14, 2018, God brought Eric K. Chilton Home with Him.

He was the oldest of four children to parents James and Barbara Chilton.  He lived a normal childhood and life as a husband, father and grandfather.

Eric graduated from Groveport Madison High School before joining the United States Air Force.  He served for 3 years as a special Operations Medic also known as “PJ”.  After leaving the United States Air Force, he worked many years as a medical assistant.  With the strong support of his parents, Eric was able to enroll at Cuyahoga Community College and receive his associates Degree as a Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C).  Eric was extremely passionate as a “PA” and enjoyed his job and loved to help his patients and his family.  He loved ministering to the sick and afflicted until his own health began to fail.

When Eric wasn’t working, he enjoyed Golfing and fishing.  When he was younger he taught himself how to play the guitar, learned how to play the saxaphone and took interest in motorcycles.  His first one was a Honda 80 Dirt Bike and later a Kawasaki 440 LTD.  Along with his motorcycles, he also loved cars.  The first car he owned was a 1965 Mustang and then a 1970 Mach 1 Canary Yellow with an orange stripe right down the middle.  During his time in the United States Air Force, he also had learned how to scuba dive while living in Panama City, Florida.  He also enjoyed his Rock Music: Kiss, Led Zeplin, Ted Nuggent, and Journay and loved the group Cameo among many others.  Eric Loved his Ohio State Buckeyes but mostly his Cleveland Browns.  His #1 passion was his children and 6 grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as GDaddy or GDad.

Eric was preceded in death by his grandfather, George Blackwell.

Left to mourn his passing are his parents, James and Barbara Chilton; his daughter, Erica K. Chilton; son, Evan K (Ashley) Chilton; sisters, Wendy K. (Chris) Johnson, and Ivy K (Paul) Cook; brother James K (Keah) Chilton; his beloved grandchildren, Emira Timmer, Eniaja and Emina Muse, Amyrne, Kendell and Ryan Chilton; his loving grandmother, Bonnie Blackwell, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Eric endured hospitals and pain until God said “You have had enough”.  Our family will miss him, but we will always remember his cheerfulness, his loving ways.  Our grief is tempered, knowing he is no longer hurting.

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes and death shall be no more.  Neither shall there be mourning, nor crying , nor pain anymore.  For the former things have passed away.  Apocalypse 21:4

Family will receive friends at 12 noon and Memorial Service at 1 pm Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd.).
