Ethel Mae Wilson

Ethel Mae Wilson, was born on March 15, 1946 in Hogansville (Troup County), Georgia. Mrs. Wilson, was brought to Dayton, OH at a young age by her Mother Annie Maude Jennings. She confessed a hope in Jesus Christ in her teenage years and united with the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized by the late Rev. David McFarland.

Mrs. Wilson, was a scholar and a member of the National Honor Society while in High School; A graduate of Dunbar High School class of 1965, her nickname was “Maybelle.” After graduation Mrs. Wilson worked for NCR later renamed AT&T Global Solutions; and retired after 32 years of service. Mrs. Wilson returned to the workforce at the Greene County Combined Health District as a secretary to the Health Commissioner. Mrs. Wilson, retired a second time after almost 20 years of Service at GCCHD.

Mrs. Wilson, was a faithful member of the Greater Saint John Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Lloyd David Hayes. Mrs. Wilson, served in various capacities while at Greater St. John and gave of her service in a gracious and Christian manner. She is remembered by as having contagious smile, laughter, and a sweet personality—a Christian lady indeed.

When Mrs. Wilson was diagnosed with dementia she relocated her residence to Reynoldsburg, OH and remained there in the home of her eldest son, until the Lord transitioned her home. She did unite with the Kingdom Power Baptist Church, but Greater Saint John was always Mrs. Wilson’s home church.

Mrs. Wilson is preceded in death by her Mother: Annie Maude Jennings and Husband: Rev. Charles C. Wilson, Sr.

Mrs. Wilson leaves to cherish her memory her Sons: Quentin Respress, I of Reynoldsburg, OH, Eric (LaTosha) Respress of Arlington, TX, and Dorian Respress of Centerville, OH, and 4 additional children by marriage; nine Grandchildren, and six Great Grandchildren, and a host of cousins and special friends.

Visitation 10:00 AM and Funeral Service 11:00 AM Friday, May 27, 2022 at Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church,4200 Germantown Pike, Dayton, Ohio. Interment at West Memory Gardens.
