A Beautiful, Devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Sister, went to sleep on April 26, 2024.
She gave her all with what little she had, and what little she did have was so much.
Exar stayed at the ready for her family-get togethers, cook-outs or just to simply talk or listen. She always gave sound advice rather you wanted to hear it or not. She was always ready in her favorite chair and her cup of ice and was down for whatever.
She loved to cook her Sunday Dinners but made sure Pop cooked the rest of the week. Her favorite day of the week was Friday – Wrestling Night. She would blast the T.V. loud like she was there so she could see who’s going to get beat up this week.
Her smile, laugh, jokes, her special ways always comforted you.
She was and will always be the matriarch, the provider, the protector, the spice of life, the powerful one who led her family like no other.
We were blessed to have had her beside us for 72 years. She touched so many souls and was loved by so many. She will always be remembered by her tenderness and loving ways, as it will get us through our lonely days.
To have known her was to love her. Exar was preceded by her mother, Margaret Jean Callahan; brothers, Mackanthony Smith, Morris Smith, Paul Smith; ex-husband, Jerry Wayne Patrick.
She leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Larry Shelton Sr.; daughters, Margaret (Albert) Rogers, Misty Patrick, Angelica Patrick, Jerry Patrick, Raiko Shelton; son, Larry Shelton Jr.; sister, Blossom (Tyrone) Powell; brother, Emmitt Smith; 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and a host nieces, nephews, and friends.
