Our hearts are broken as our Sister Circle has been broken due to the passing of our sister, Fannie Mae Curry. Fannie was the sister with the great sense of humor and the fun Aunt. She loved her some Country and Gospel music. She was born in Marion, Alabama on March 9, 1948, to Arthur and Sarah Curry.
Fannie accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Flintridge Missionary Baptist Church for many years where she served diligently, and we know that she loved the Lord. She was employed in private homes and was loved and respected by her employers and their children.
On Wednesday August 7, 2024, she transitioned from this life in her home at thecommand of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Fannie is preceded in death by her only child, son Lamar Curry, by both parents, Sarah Curry and Arthur Curry, brothers, Keyotha Curry, Roger and Samuel Curry, one nephew, Shamon Curry.
Fannie Girl leaves to cherish her memories two grandsons, Lasheem J. and Larae T. Curry; and one great grandson, Lakai Curry; three sisters, Johnnie Mae Curry, Oletha Curry and Edna Guinn; one brother-in-law, Curtis S. Guinn whom she called “Dad”; three brothers, Curtis (Bridgette) of El Paso, TX, Tommy Lee Curry of TX and Norman Brand of New York; nephews and nieces, Anthony (Mary) Cynthia, Monica, Tika (Earl) Curtis D. (baby new year) and Christopher; special sister, Brenda Campbel; special friend, Emma Booker. A host of uncles, aunts and first cousins.
Fannie loved to talk and joke with people and was very good at her craft. She was the family’s official red velvet cake baker for birthdays and holidays. Lord, now you know we are going to miss those red velvet cakes!
